Meet Our Team
Servant leadership is a key value at Crossway Vineyard and many people make up our "serve team". We value what Paul writes in Philippians 2:3 when it comes to serving & leading... "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves." Meet some of our key servant leaders!
David Welker serves as lead pastor. He's also a part of our Senior Leadership Team & Board of Trustees. David and his wife (Shannon) joined CVC in August of 2022. He's excited to help lead and grow our community in awareness of what it means to be "a people of God's presence, captured by the gospel of Jesus Christ". Prior to moving to Urbana, David served as senior pastor of a Vineyard church in Mankato, MN. However, most of his life was spent in Northeast Ohio, serving as an associate & assistant pastor in two different Vineyard churches in the Cleveland area (both he and Shannon are buckeyes at heart). He's a Cleveland sports fan, loves Indian food and his hobbies include playing the ukulele and collecting pocket knives.

Shannon Welker has been married to David for 34 years. They have two adult children, a son-in-law and a grandbaby that they love! Shannon has a heart for the marginalized, disenfranchised and under-resourced. She's a gifted team builder that carries the compassion of Jesus. Shannon is a part of our SLT (Senior Leadership Team), heads up our community outreaches & serves as our Children's Ministry Director. She is excited for all that Jesus wants to do in and through Crossway Vineyard. In her spare time, when she's not doting on their granddaughter, Shannon enjoys cooking, gardening and having a good time with friends.
Wes Krabill has been a part of Crossway Vineyard from the very beginning. He serves on our SLT (Senior Leadership Team) and helps to make sure that our property is maintained in a lot of different ways. Wes is an all around leader, we love his servant heart! When not volunteering his leadership at CVC, he owns multiple businesses in the area, Wes is very invested in the communities around Urbana. He also spends a lot of time on his working farm, which he and his wife Susie call home.
Susie Krabill is married to Wes and has also been a part of Crossway Vineyard from the very beginning. Like Wes, Susie brings wisdom and a servants heart that is an incredible blessing for CVC. She is a part of our SLT (Senior Leadership Team) & a Trustee in our church. Susie keeps our financial books and is deeply involved in the community life of our church. Like Wes, Susie is an all around leader.
She's known for being an incredible cook, baker and being very creative. Many call her the "Martha Stewart of Crossway Vineyard"! She enjoys spending time at home and having her family (including their grandchildren) over.
Andrew Miller and his wife Dawn have been a part of CVC since the church was planted. He serves on the Board of Trustees, Missions Committee and as an all around leader. They've been married for 22 years and have two children, Jasmine and Ava. Andrew likes cycling and the girls play fall & spring soccer. The whole family enjoys hiking and vacationing at Hilton Head. They're one of the wonderful families you'll meet at Crossway Vineyard Church.
Ivy Thoman serves as our Communications Director & serves on the SLT (Senior Leadership Team) & serves in our worship community (worship teams).
